Howdy, art friend!

Drawing hands sucks, right?

But wait…WHAT ABOUT FEET?! They’re like hands, but messed up hands.

They got all these goofy and random curves, angles, and proportions.

And if you can't figure them out you can always hide them in shoes forever and ignore your problems. You can put it off forever!

Well that won't do. We must not live in fear.

So, here's a quick tutorial on feet to so you can find your own "footing" again.

Step 1. Learn the Major Areas

You have two options right now.

  1. Be lazy and keep guessing the parts of a foot OR

  2. Take a few minutes to study what a foot actually is.

The second option sounds harder, but it’ll save you a lot time in the long run. So here’s a diagram you can study. Those silly names are the bones under the “footmeat”.

Step 2. Follow a Process

Getting confused by a foot’s position?

  1. Start with the basic outlines of the major areas you just studied

  2. Block in those areas

  3. Draw your actual lines over your guide.

Step 3. Some Examples

Now you practice and follow the process from lots of angles until you dream of drawing feet.

See? That wasn’t so bad was it?

Now go draw some feet! 🦶🦶

Peace and Love,
Brosatsu
